Your billing information appears on every invoice HOSTDOG issues. Whether you have moved to a new address, registered a company, or obtained a VAT number, updating these details takes only a few minutes in the client area.
Before you begin
- An active HOSTDOG account
- Your login credentials (email address and password)
- The updated details you wish to save (address, phone number, company name, VAT number, etc.)
When should you update your billing information?
You should update your billing details whenever any of the following apply:
- You have moved — your postal address or country has changed
- You have registered a company — invoices need to be issued under your company name
- You have obtained a VAT number — a valid intra-community VAT number may qualify you for VAT exemption on EU purchases
- Your contact details have changed — phone number or alternative email address
- You have changed your legal name — for example after marriage or legal name change
How to update your billing information
Open your browser and go to https://www.hostdog.eu/client/. Enter your email address and password, then click Login. You will be taken to your client area dashboard.
From the dashboard or navigation menu, click on your name in the top-right corner, then select Edit Account Details. Alternatively, navigate to Hello, [Name]! → Edit Account Details. This opens your profile page where all billing information is stored.
On the account details page, you can modify the following fields:
- First name and Last name
- Address (street, city, state/region, postcode)
- Country
- Phone number
Update each field as needed. All of these details appear on your invoices, so make sure they are accurate.
If you are a business customer, scroll to the company information section and fill in or update the following:
- Company name — your registered business name as it should appear on invoices
- Tax ID / VAT number — your tax identification number (e.g. EL000000000 for Greek businesses)
Once you have reviewed all the updated fields, click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page. A confirmation message will appear, and your new billing details will be applied to all future invoices.
Invoice accuracy
Your billing information is printed on every invoice HOSTDOG generates. Accurate details are essential for:
- Tax compliance — correct company name and VAT number ensure invoices are valid for tax deductions and accounting purposes
- Delivery of services — your country determines the applicable VAT rate
- Communication — HOSTDOG uses your phone number and address for account verification when needed
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Your email address can be updated on the same account details page. Keep in mind that this is the email you use to log in, so make sure you remember the new address. A verification email may be sent to confirm the change.
No. Invoices that have already been generated are not affected. Your updated information will appear on all future invoices only. If you need a correction on a past invoice, contact our support team.
Navigate to Edit Account Details in your client area and enter your full VAT number (including the country prefix) in the Tax ID field. The system validates intra-community VAT numbers automatically. Once verified, applicable VAT exemptions will be applied to future invoices.
Simply update your account details with your company name and VAT number following the steps above. All future invoices will be issued under your company name. No new account is needed.
