This article explains what the 30-day money-back guarantee covers, who is eligible, and how to request a refund if you decide HOSTDOG is not the right fit for you.
What the guarantee covers
The 30-day money-back guarantee applies to shared hosting plans (both Personal and Business) purchased from HOSTDOG. If you are not satisfied with the service for any reason within the first 30 days of your initial purchase, you can request a full refund of the hosting fees paid.
This guarantee gives you the freedom to test HOSTDOG's hosting infrastructure, performance, and support without financial risk.
Eligibility requirements
To qualify for a refund under the 30-day money-back guarantee, the following conditions must be met:
- The refund request must be submitted within 30 days of the initial hosting purchase date
- The guarantee applies to new shared hosting orders only — it does not apply to renewals, upgrades, or additional billing cycles
- Domain registration fees are not refundable, as domains are registered with third-party registries and cannot be reversed
- Any add-on services (such as dedicated IP addresses or premium SSL certificates) purchased separately are also not covered
What is not covered
The following services and fees are excluded from the money-back guarantee:
- Domain registrations — once a domain is registered (e.g., .com, .gr, .eu), the registration fee is non-refundable
- Reseller hosting plans — these have a 12-month minimum term
- Cloud VPS and dedicated servers — these have their own terms and minimum commitment periods
- Hosting renewals — the guarantee only covers the initial purchase
- Add-on services — such as premium SSL certificates, dedicated IPs, or extra resources purchased separately
How to request a refund
To request a refund under the 30-day money-back guarantee:
Navigate to the HOSTDOG homepage and click the Log in button in the top right corner of the page.
Go to Support and click Open New Ticket. Select the Billing department and clearly state that you would like to request a refund under the 30-day money-back guarantee. Include the hosting plan name and order number for faster processing.
The HOSTDOG billing team reviews your request and processes the refund. You will receive a confirmation email once the refund is issued. The refund is returned to the original payment method used for the purchase.
After the refund
Once the refund is processed:
- Your shared hosting account is suspended and then terminated
- All files, databases, and email accounts on the hosting plan are permanently deleted
- Any domains registered alongside the hosting remain active and under your ownership — they are not affected by the hosting cancellation
Frequently asked questions
The hosting fees are refundable, but the domain registration fee is not. Domains are registered through external registries and cannot be reversed. Your domain remains active and under your control even after the hosting is cancelled.
No. The 30-day money-back guarantee applies only to the initial hosting purchase. If you upgrade your plan after the initial purchase, the upgrade cost is not covered by the guarantee.
The 14-day cooling-off period is a statutory right for EU consumers that applies to most online purchases. HOSTDOG's 30-day money-back guarantee extends this window to a full month specifically for shared hosting plans, giving you more time to evaluate the service.
