There are two ways to log in: directly via the control panel URL, or through your HOSTDOG Client Area. This guide covers both methods and shows you what to do if you can't find your login details.

Prerequisites

  • An active HOSTDOG hosting account (shared, business, or reseller)
  • Your control panel login credentials (sent in your welcome email after purchase)

Method 1: Log in via the HOSTDOG client area (recommended)

This is the easiest method and doesn't require you to remember a separate URL.

Step 1:
Go to the HOSTDOG client area

Navigate to the HOSTDOG homepage and click the Log in button in the top right corner of the page.

Step 2:
Log in to your account

Enter the email address and password you used when you created your HOSTDOG account, then click Login.

Step 3:
Open your hosting service

Once logged in, click Services in the top menu, then select your active hosting plan from the list.

Step 4:
Launch the control panel

On your service details page, look for the Log in to Control Panel button (or a similar link). Click it — this will open your hosting control panel in a new tab, automatically logging you in.

Tip: This method uses single sign-on, so you don't need to enter your control panel credentials separately.

Method 2: Log in directly via URL

You can also access your control panel directly through your browser.

Step 1:
Navigate to the control panel URL

Enter one of the following addresses in your browser:

URL Format Example
https://yourdomain.com:2083 https://example.com:2083
https://server-hostname:2083 Found in your welcome email
Note: Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name. Your domain must already be pointed to HOSTDOG's nameservers for this method to work.
Step 2:
Enter your credentials

On the login page, enter:

  • Username: Your control panel username (found in your welcome email)
  • Password: Your control panel password (set during account activation or found in your welcome email)

Click Log in.

Where to find your login credentials

Your control panel username and password were included in the welcome email sent when your hosting account was activated. The email subject typically contains your domain name and the words "Account Information."

If you can't find this email:

Reset your control panel password

If you've forgotten your control panel password:

Step 1:
Log in to the client area

Navigate to the HOSTDOG homepage and click the Log in button in the top right corner of the page.

Step 2:
Navigate to your hosting service

Click Services, then select your active hosting plan.

Step 3:
Change the password

Look for the Change Password option on your service details page. Enter a new strong password and save it.

Note: Your HOSTDOG client area password and your control panel password are separate. Changing one does not affect the other.

What can I do in the control panel?

Once logged in, you'll have access to:

  • Email: Create and manage email accounts, set up forwarders and autoresponders
  • Files: Upload and manage your website files via File Manager or FTP
  • Databases: Create and manage MySQL databases and access phpMyAdmin
  • Domains: Add domains, manage subdomains, and configure redirects
  • Security: Manage SSL certificates, Imunify360, and directory privacy
  • Software: Install WordPress and 380+ other apps with one click via Softaculous
  • Backups: Download or restore backups of your website
  • Metrics: View visitor statistics and resource usage

Troubleshooting

"Invalid login" or "incorrect credentials"
  • Make sure you're using your control panel credentials, not your HOSTDOG client area login — they are different accounts
  • Check that Caps Lock is off
  • Try resetting your control panel password through the Client Area (see steps above)
  • Your domain may not be pointed to HOSTDOG yet — use the Client Area login method instead (Method 1)
  • Make sure you're including the port number :2083 in the URL
  • Try using https:// (not http://)
  • This can happen on slow internet connections due to the secure (encrypted) connection. Wait a few moments for the page to fully load
  • Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser
